Theatres

Slovak National Theatre

The Slovak National Theatre is the second oldest Slovak professional theatre consisting of 3 ensembles – opera, ballet and drama. It is housed in two buildings, a Habsburg-era building in the Old Town on Hviezdoslav' Square and a modern theatre near the Danube river, which opened in 2007. Together, they stage various performances in Slovak or German, with a season running from September to June.

New Stage Theater (Nová scéna)

The second-largest theatre in Bratislava was established in 1946. It is reputed for staging grand musicals like New York's Broadway and London's West End. They are also involved in top grade dance productions ranging from ballet and ballroom to alternative performances.
